She has always been very involved in Education. For Melissa the way she feels that she can contribute the most and make a difference is by educating everyone about the importance of improving their health, as well as ways to take preventive healthcare measures, and increase health literacy. She is part of the Haitian American Coalition Health Taskforce which mission is to reduce the health burden of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Haitian community in south Florida through a comprehensive approach that includes a tailored communication campaign to reinforce the public health measure. She has also appeared on shows such as Sant La Live and Island TV educating the public about health promotion and disease prevention programs. She is also involved with The Ayiti Community Trust (ACT) and is part of its fundraising committee.  She is planning on implementing a conference in Haiti to other healthcare professionals about several physical therapy assessments and interventions when treating patients with neurological and orthopedic disorders

Melissa dedicates a great deal of time, energy, efforts and resources to projects and people that interests her. She knows that there is still much to learn about so many things but she is curious and passionate about life and its enriching lessons.

One of her favorite quotes is “There’s power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s grace in being willing to know and hear others.” Michelle Obama
