Reginald Sainvil is an attorney based in the Miami office of Baker McKenzie, where he is a member of the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. He regularly represents corporate debtors, financial institutions, indenture trustees, investors, and secured and unsecured creditors in domestic and international corporate restructurings, liquidations, and distressed financings and acquisitions. Reginald has broad advisory and litigation experience with complex issues that arise in reorganizations, restructurings, receiverships, workouts, liquidations, and distressed acquisitions and sales, in both domestic and cross-border situations and proceedings. He defends creditors in bankruptcy-related contested matters and adversary proceedings, including preference and fraudulent transfer litigation. He also handles complex commercial litigation issues arising from business disputes, advises parties to financial contracts regarding safe harbor protections, and provides strategic advice on the optimum structuring of transactions. Reginald has developed an extensive pro bono practice and has obtained victories for indigent individuals and non-profit organizations. He has also demonstrated a commitment to initiatives that address critical societal issues, including access to justice, human rights, and diversity. Reginald is a Florida native, born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Finance and received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
