Sonless D. Martin Jr. is a native of Miami, Florida. He attended Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida for undergrad and Nova Southeastern University. He is the eldest of three siblings.
He has held numerous appointed roles in local government for the past six years. Roles held varied from commission aide to senior advisor, which eventually lead to Director of Policy and legislation. Aside from professional roles, he currently serves as the chairman of beacon for change, inc. (www.beacaonforchange.org), an organization with the mission of supporting impacted communities and people throughout all walks of life. He prides himself on his relentless faith in God, which he credits to every decision that is made in his life. Constantly evolving through leadership programs, study abroad experiences, and reading books.
Sonless enjoys traveling, networking, and making a huge difference in the life of others. He serves as a board member for BAC Funding, a young trustee member of Florida House DC, and chairman of Beacon for Change. Sonless is a recipient of the 2018 Difference Maker Award from the Greater Miami Chambers of Commerce, 2018 Sapoznik Insurance Public School Alumni Achievement Award, 2019 Black Men in Excellence Award. Sonless is also an active Member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated.
