Magdaleina V. Joseph

Dr. Magdaleina V. Joseph received her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and Associate in Art (AA) degree from Miami Dade College. Dr. Joseph is a proud graduate of Barry University. She received her BSN, MSN with a specialization in family nurse practitioner tract and PhD from Barry University. Dr. Joseph is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, teaching in the nurse practitioner and doctoral nursing practice programs. Dr. Joseph is a board certified family nurse practitioner from both the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) and a board certified emergency nursing. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI), Lambda Chi Chapter (LCC) and Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society.

Dr. Joseph is a member of several professional nursing organizations including STTI, Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society. Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), Florida Nurses Association (FNA), American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACCN), and Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA). Currently, she serves as a co-chair of International Affair Committee (IAC) of HANA. Dr. Joseph experience includes acquisition of strong clinical skills throughout her career as a professional registered nurse in various clinical settings such as emergency, critical care telemetry, and med-surge services. As an advanced practice nurse, Dr. Joseph has held several positions as adjunct faculty and post-acute hospitalist.

In 2016, Dr. Joseph was the first place winner for research poster presentation at the Sixth

Annual Florida Nurses Association South Region Symposium and Award Ceremony, in 2015

second place winner for research poster presentation at the symposium held by the Center for

Interdisciplinary Scholarship, Barry University, and 2015 second place winner for research poster presentation at the Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) Fourth Annual Leadership Convention.

 

Dr. Joseph’s research interests include women’s health issues with a focus to improve gynecological health of Haitian women’s in Haiti. Dr. Joseph has done podium and poster presentation at local levels.
