Norma Jules

Norma Jules

A native of Miami, Florida and of Haitian descent, Norma Jules is one of South Florida’s leading young professionals and community leaders invested in public service. For many years Norma has helped championed racial equality and social justice on behalf of the African American community and other historically underrepresented communities with her involvement in various community base organizations. For the last 9 years, Norma has volunteered with the Urban League of Broward County (ULBC). During her time serving with ULBC she has held various leadership volunteer positions including three terms as Senior Vice President. Her energetic and skilled leadership has led her to spearhead signature initiatives for the Broward County chapter such as I AM Empowered Month, Know Your Rights Political Form and the Urban League of Broward County Young Professionals Scholarship program.

 

Norma demonstrates an above average sense of assurance, leadership, and readiness to take on any new growth opportunities. Her enthusiasm and compassion as a volunteer are evident when observing her in the mentoring role. Norma has been an active volunteer mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County since 2009. During the past eight years as a mentor Norma has been a consistent and reliable figure in her mentees life. Norma also serves on the executive board for the South Florida Chapter of NAAAHR- Career Essential Program. Using her unique experiences and knowledge as a strategic planner; Norma provides mentorship and leadership development for young African Americas thriving to accomplish professional goals.

 

Driven by her passion for serving and her love for her native country, in 2010 after the Haiti earthquake, Norma volunteered at His House Foster Home, where she served as a translator and helping hand to the homes were the Haitian orphans were housed. Norma’s dedication and consistency will continue to make a world of difference to the youth she works with.

 

Norma’s unwavering commitment to promote social economic empowerment has earned her the recognition. In 2012 Norma was awarded the People on the Move award by the South Florida Business Journal and in 2014 she was named South Florida’s 40 under 40 Black Leaders of Today and Tomorrow by Legacy Magazine. In November of 2016, Norma was afforded the opportunity to be a trailblazer when she was named as the CEO of the Hallandale Beach Chamber of Commerce, where she became the youngest and the first Haitian-American to serve in this role in the Chamber’s 80-year history.

 

Norma is a proud graduate of St. Thomas University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History.
