Natacha Janac

Industry: Mental Health Counseling

Natacha J. Janac is a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Albizu University. She earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Community and Social Change from the University of Miami, School of Education and Human Development. As a foster-care mental health therapist with a focus on behavioral and emotional disorders, her clinical interests include working with ethnically diverse children, adolescents, and families, particularly immigrants from the Caribbean region and diaspora. Providing strength-based, multiculturally competent care to all families is central to her therapeutic approach. Natacha is a member of the University of Miami’s CRECER research team and travels to Haiti quarterly with Rebati Santé Mentale to train and raise awareness on Mental Health issues. Locally, she’s served for four consecutive years as the Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council chair at the Miami Dade County Community Action Agency; during her term, she empowered Head Start parents to advocate for their children’s education and for their community. She modeled such behavior by traveling to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to meet with state representatives and advocate on the importance of early education. Natacha is a founding board member of Ayiti Community Trust, Haiti’s first grant making community foundation. She spends her spare time on Pinterest and is not ashamed to sing along to Christmas music all year long. She’d love to have dinner with the Obamas.
