Ludmilla Paul was born and raised in Miami, FL. For her undergraduate tenure, Ms. Paul attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, focusing on health economics and economic development. Ludmilla then completed a fellowship with the State of Georgia Governor’s Office. In this role, she was part of a team that assessed the feasibility of health insurance exchanges included in the Affordable Care Act. She went on to earn a Master of Public Health from Nova Southeastern University. Her graduate coursework focused on Health Policy and Management as well as Epidemiology. She was recognized as a leader of her graduating class and received the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Public Health.
Currently, she serves as a Health Informatics Consultant on National Accounts at Meritain Health, an Aetna company. Meritain Health is a third party administrator of consumer-directed health plans. She assists the informatics team in designing and executing analytic studies that answer business and research questions.
Previously, she was employed by Health Choice Network (HCN). HCN supports a network of community health centers by providing key business services, strategic initiatives, and the latest in health information technology. In her role, she was responsible for the day-to-day management of health programs and clinical research protocols aimed at improving healthcare delivery and health outcomes. She monitored progress of various initiatives as well as ensure compliance with human subject research, data sharing, and stakeholder engagement regulations.
Ms. Paul is most interested in the intersection between health, technology, and policy. She understands that big data and health service research can support targeted initiatives and product development to improve population health. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, the arts, and traveling.
