Seize the opportunity to win a $2,500 scholarship grant from Miami-Dade County. This scholarship is for first-generation college students who reside in Miami-Dade County.

Eligibility:

Age Requirement

  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 26.

Residency and Background

  • Must have resided in Miami-Dade County for at least one year prior to the submission of their written application for scholarship.
  • Must provide proof of residency.
  • Must be the first in their immediate family to obtain a bachelor’s degree (i.e., neither parent has obtained a bachelor’s degree).
  • Must not have been awarded this grant previously.

College Admission and Enrollment

  • Must have gained admission for the following school year into one or more accredited, not-for-profit, four-year colleges or universities within the State of Florida
  • Must currently be attending an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year college or university within the State of Florida with at least 24 credits remaining to be fulfilled at the time of application.
  • Must be enrolled or will be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e., enrolled in sufficient courses to obtain no less than 12 credits per semester).

Academic Performance

  • Must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the school year 2024-2025.

Degree Pursuit

  • Must be pursuing a degree or express an intent to pursue a degree in at least one of the following fields:
    • Business (including, but not limited to, economics, finance, and international affairs/relations)
    • Public sciences (including, but not limited to, public administration, political science, and urban planning).

Deadline for Submission

Must fill out the application form for the scholarship, along with supporting documentation, on or before December 14, 2024.
