


Judith Oriental Pierre
Dr. Judith Oriental-Pierre, MD is a proud Miami native who returned to her hometown with a mission: to give back, uplift, and empower the very community that helped shape her journey. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she leads medical care for survivors of sexual violence. In this role, Dr. Oriental-Pierre not only provides trauma-informed medical oversight but also champions systemic improvements in care for victims of sexual assault, human trafficking, and domestic violence across Miami-Dade County.
A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Oriental-Pierre is also a core faculty member at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System Emergency Medicine Residency Program and an affiliated assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Her academic leadership includes mentoring future physicians, developing curriculum on emergency ultrasound, and serving as faculty advisor for Project Freedom, the university’s anti-human trafficking initiative.
Dr. Oriental-Pierre’s academic path is rooted in Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University and began her medical education at Ross University School of Medicine. Her postgraduate training includes a rigorous emergency medicine residency at the University of Connecticut, where she served as Chief Resident, followed by an emergency ultrasound fellowship at the University of South Florida. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about education, innovation, and community outreach.
As a certified victim advocate, human trafficking practitioner, and sexual assault forensic examiner, Dr. Oriental-Pierre brings a multidisciplinary approach to addressing violence and trauma. She is an active member of the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team and the Child Abuse Death Review Team, helping to shape policy and protocols aimed at preventing future tragedies. Her research has been nationally presented, and she has authored peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on point-of-care ultrasound and emergency care protocols.
Dr. Oriental-Pierre’s community-focused leadership has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, she received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition and the Champion in Healthcare Award for her work at the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center. She has also been recognized as Clinical Educator of the Year by the Jackson Health System and the University of Miami.
Fluent in English and Haitian Creole, and proficient in Spanish, Dr. Oriental-Pierre prides herself on bridging gaps in care, language, and trust between patients and providers. She remains deeply committed to advancing equity, advocacy, and excellence in emergency medicine and beyond.
Through her work, Dr. Oriental-Pierre embodies the spirit of service and resilience that defines Miami. Her return home is not just a professional decision—it’s a heartfelt commitment to healing, leading, and giving back.
