Karty Pierre-Phillippe is a Haitian-American woman from Miami, FL, who graduated with a Master’s in Healthcare Services Administration from Florida International University. A first-generation graduate alumnus, Ms. Pierre-Phillippe has always had big ambitions in finance and public administration. As a daughter and older sister, she faithfully pursues her dreams as a servant leader.

Ms. Pierre-Phillippe has a natural gift for inspiring others to be their best every day as a Self-Care Advocate. Since 2011, she has devoted numerous hours of community service to nonprofit organizations that support access to financial assistance and quality education.

In 2024, Ms. Pierre-Phillippe launched Candles by K, a wellness brand created to bring peace, positivity, and power to busy, bothered, and burnt-out individuals. The mission of Candles by K is to “let your light shine” (Matt. 5:16 KJV). The products are crafted with natural ingredients that are safe for consumers and environmentally friendly. The brand also serves to educate the community on the importance of self-care and wellness management.

Ms. Pierre-Phillippe has participated in numerous health and wellness fairs, where she educates others on preventing hypertension, anxiety, and depression using her soy wax candles, massage oils, and natural ingredient soaps.

As a 2024 Scale-Up 305 Alumni, Ms. Pierre-Phillippe gained essential skills to successfully operate a small business. Mentorship from experts in the South Florida incubator program inspired her to dream bigger and expand her network among professional Haitian business owners. At the end of the program, she competed in a rigorous pitch competition and proudly earned third place—a milestone moment in the history of Candles by K.

Ms. Pierre-Phillippe is more than a good businesswoman—she is a creative healer who genuinely cares about people’s emotions, health, and financial well-being. She is always looking for new ways to support and uplift others.
